Cards Featuring Sue Wilson's 2016 Festive Collection Poinsettia Border, Corner and Tag

Monday, August 8, 2016
Today I am showing 3 cards that card designer Joan Morrison made using the Sue Wilson Poinsettia Border, Corner and Tag die set.  She did a good job demonstrating the different ways you can use
the dies to get different results.  If you would like to order this die and make your own Christmas
creations with it, you can call 574-784-9050 or e-mail: myjoansgardens@yahoo.com

For this card, Joan started by embossing her white
cardstock panel with a Swirling Holly embossing
folder (that is unfortunately no longer available.)  But
any decorative embossing folder would add detail. She
did not use the outer cutting die of the border, only the
inner decorative border die and cut the design into the
background twice as shown. She then backed it
with red cardstock. She added a large poinsettia and used
the tag from this set, raising it up with adhesive foam
pads for dimension.  Red rhinestones in the middle of
the poinsettias give it a festive touch.

As you can see on this card, the outer border cutting die was used
to cut a solid red background for the border.  Then both the outer
cutting die and inner decorative die were used together to cut out
a white poinsettia border to put on top.
The Splendid Swirls cut in white were a nice addition, as were
the poinsettias, of course.

This was a smaller card, simple yet so pretty.
The images cut into the card were done by using the
inner decorative die of the Poinsettia corner. Then
backed with red glitter paper and adorned with
a pretty gold ribbon.
