Cards Featuring Marianne die LR0425

Friday, August 5, 2016
Today's cards feature the Marianne die Anja's Label Frame & Flowers.  I absolutely LOVE it!  I sent this die to card designer Joan Morrison to see what she would come up with and I made a couple cards with it myself.  Look how different they turned out.   This rather unique and lovely die could be used for any occasion.  If you would like to order this die or any of the other components used,
just call 574-784-9050 or send an e-mail to: myjoansgardens@yahoo.com

Joan added a little glitz to this card by using glitter
paper to cut the PoppyStamp Hampstead Corner and
used it as a floral embellishment.

This card she made is just so cheery...it makes me
happy just to look at it!  What a different look
by cutting the overlay out of patterned paper.
The sentiment from the Phil Martin Sentimentally
Yours Everyday Scribbled Sentiment Stamp Set
is a nice added touch as are the bright red flowers.

I made this card using the flower dies that come
with the die set so we could see what they look like.
I chose a color combo of cream, dark brown and olive
green with rust flowers.  My daughter didn't care for it,
but for some reason, I just really liked the look.  I tucked
a flourish from Marianne's Decorative Elegance set
behind the flowers.  The frame allows quite a bit of
space to stamp or cut out a sentiment.  I used words
from the I.O. die Greeting Set

I really like the way this card turned out.  I started
with a cream background and a black overlay.  And
I wanted some kind of bright flower to really make
it pop.  So I used the Sue Wilson Exquisite Poppy
I was a little intimidated by the look of the die set,
but it was super easy to use and makes 3 different
sizes of poppies!  I cut them out of bright orange
cardstock, inked the edges, shaped them by rolling a
stylus over the petals and then spritzed them with water.
This helps in the shaping and gives them a nice
look when they dry.  The centers were cut out
of black and yellow for a realistic look.  I cut apart
a MFT Leafy Flourish and put it behind the flowers
and tucked a little ribbon and black twine in for interest.
