Sorry, Slight Hiccup in Service for Joan's Gardens

Hello, to all my wonderful and faithful customers.  I must apologize for a slight "hiccup" in service from Joan's Gardens.

Yesterday morning started out like any normal day, I received a couple large shipments in, pulled my orders and prepared to invoice and ship several orders out.  But....I received a frantic call from my mother telling me that my 77 yr. old dad had fallen from the top rung of a ladder/the roof  onto a cement sidewalk.  She was just beside herself as the ambulance was getting ready to rush my dad to the emergency room and they were 99.9 % sure he had broken his hip.  So of course, it was off to the hospital.  Doctors confirmed that he did break his hip and it was a very BAD break.  After x-rays, CT Scans, etc. he was put into traction and was scheduled for surgery this morning.  The break was so severe, a Trauma Orthopedic Specialist was called in to do the surgery.  We got home around 9:30 p.m. only to discover we had NO INTERNET SERVICE!!

I could not retrieve any e-mails, could not print shipping labels....nothing.

Then back to hospital early this morning.  The surgery went fine, however, once they were inside they discovered it was worse than they originally thought.  Instead of 3 or 4 breaks there actually 5 or 6 breaks!  They had to drill down the middle of his entire femur and insert a metal rod, clamps, pins. etc.  He will be in the hospital for at least 3 days, then to a rehab facility for 4 wks. with an expected 4 to 6 month recovery time.  Long day at the hospital.

The Internet for whatever reason, did not get restored until late this afternoon. Sooo, now I am playing catch-up.  Please forgive the lack of answering your calls, and responding to your e-mails.  I will be working diligently to answer all of these.  Also, I am so sorry if I told you that your order was going to ship yesterday or today and it didn't.  My sincere apologies. I will be invoicing and billing this evening so that I can ship your orders out first thing tomorrow morning on my way to the don't be alarmed if you get an invoice/e-mail from me at 1:00 am!!

I may be in and out tomorrow and Friday, but I will return your calls and and still get your on-line orders.  My sister from out of town will be coming in on Saturday and I have another sister local that will be available for my parents so it shouldn't disrupt business too much.

Thank you for your understanding.
