Prayers for Scarlet

Good Morning Ladies,

Wow.  You never know what a day holds in store for you.  It can start out wonderful and with one text or phone call it can all change.  Yesterday afternoon, I received a text from my oldest son, that they had to take my 4 mo. old granddaughter Scarlet to the ER - she was vomiting, dehydrated, and lethargic.

This is my sweet little angel girl...she is normally the happiest, smiley baby ever:

Then the next I heard they were flying her to Riley's Children Center .... That was alarming.  She had been diagnosed with a serious condition called Intussusception.  Intussusception is a life-threatening illness and occurs when a portion of the intestine folds like a telescope, with one segment slipping inside another segment. This causes an obstruction, preventing the passage of food that is being digested through the intestine. It causes intense pain.

Due to thunderstorms in Indy, they were unable to fly in and had to transport her by ambulance.  Andrea got to ride along, Chad had to follow behind in a couple hour drive.  So heartbreaking to think of her going through all this.
In hopes of avoiding surgery, the doctor's performed a procedure that is best described as an "air enema"  where air is forced thru to try and correct/reposition the bowel/intestines to eliminate the blockage.  The procedure went well and the doctors are hopeful.  She will need to be watched for at least a day.  Scarlet is doing well, but very weak, tired and hungry.  She cannot eat for several hours after the procedure.  Andrea was going to get to try nursing her at 6:00 am.

Chad texted me at 8:30 this morning that feeding did not go well .... she was still vomiting.  This just breaks my heart.

I know this has nothing to do with business, no new product to introduce ... this is just a grandma asking for prayers for her granddaughter in need.

I feel like you all are not just customers, you are also friends.  I appreciate all the encouragement and well wishes you give me.  I also know that many of you are prayer warriors and I am asking that you would stand with me in prayer for healing of sweet Baby Scarlet.  I am believing for a total healing with no recurrence.  I just feel so helpless.  But I do believe in the power of prayer.  And my God is a mighty God.

Thank you all.

Sincerely,

Terri

Terri, This breaks my heart. Praying that God keeps His hands on your sweet little granddaughter. His protective powers will be all she needs for her body to be whole again. Praying that God put the right Dr's and nurses in Scarlet's life to keep her pain free and comfortable and that God will heal her from the top of her head to the bottom of her little feet. God is our healer and He is hope and our peace. I trust that He will always be with her and hold her in His hands when her parents go to get the much needed rest. Praying for them and knowing this is a scary situation but they have to have the faith and trust in God and His abilities. My granddaughter's name is also Scarlett (2 t's) and her father is aa ER Dr so I called him and asked him about your Scarlet's situation. He wait that the Air enema would be one of the first things they would do to eliminate surgery so they are doing the right thing. Standing with you and her parents in Believing in God and Scarlet's healing....

Dear Terri, It is so very difficult when one so little is in pain and we can do nothing to help them. Keep your faith strong and know she is in good hands and that God will guild the Dr's through this to help Scarlet. Praying for her and your entire family--remember God is Great.

Before retirement, my job was to see that little ones like this one got all the care to mature into healthy little kiddos. Prayers are needed but she is in good care and she won't dehydrate being at the hospital with IVs until she can feed on her own. Take care and our prayers.

Oh sooo sorry to hear this Terri! As another grandma I surely can identify with your fears and feelings of helplessness... yet in our weakness, HE is made strong! He gives us strength to trust Him and to lean on Him. He has a plan for this precious little life He brought in to the world and He will fulfill it! Praying for guidance and wisdom for her Drs. and compassionate nurses... and for your whole family as you wait. Sending grandma hugs!
