CARD Using New Technique

Today's card was so fun as I learned a new technique (for me).
I LOVE - LOVE Wendy Vecchi's new stencil and embossing paste.
Margaret, one of my customers told me about this gorgeous Velvet/Suede paper, so I ordered some to try.  Then she sent me several supplies to try and this is what I come up with.
I thought I would take some pictures to show you the process.
First of all, tape the stencil down to your craft mat using Frog or painters tape.  Tape the top and bottom first..
Then tape the edges, making sure you cover all the paper or velvet.
Using a spread device, spread Wendy's Embossing paste all over the stencil.  I placed a piece of black behind it so you could see it.
Make sure everything on the stencil is covered.  Then removed the side tapes one at a time, then the bottom tape.  Gently and carefully lift the bottom using the top tape as a hinge.

Then apply Glitter (I used Art Glitter which I am in the process of opening an account with them) over the top, shake it off as you do any glitter.  I took a sponge paint brush and brushed off any extra that stuck to the velvet/suede.

Products Used on this card:
Lovely Large Flower Stencil - SFA 24 - Wendy Vecchi
Timeless Rectangle - SF158 - Spellbinders
Wendy's Embossing White Paste
Anastasia Border - B136 - Cheery Lynn
Kassie Embossing Folder - 2000215  - Cuttlebug
Purple Velvet/Suede Cardstock

I love your blog....don't often post a comment, but just loved your post today. I, too, love suede/velvet paper...it really feels like suede, but it cuts and embosses so beautifully....I was surprised. I love using it at Christmastime...several of the colors make beautiful poinsettias. I even stamped with Versamark and embossed the petals with glitter embossing powder and it was beautiful. God Bless you and thanks for all your inspiration.

P.S. It also works great with punches....use the greens with my pine bough punches and dies a lot.

I found buying it by the sheet at my LSS got rather pricey, but I found a source that made it a lot less expensive if I bought it by the package....especially at Christmas when I use a lot of the reds and greens. Sometimes I split packages with friends, too.
