Dylan, my great-grandson turns 5 this week and since my granddaughter Kara saves all their cards, I had to come up something cute for him and different. I struggle with making boy cards as there doesn't seem to be a lot of dies etc. available for young boys. I have 10 boys, 6 girls, plus the adults that receives my handmade birthday cards which keeps me busy almost every month of the year. But, talk about being blessed....I certainly am!

I received 3 new dies last week that I had ordered from Dieversion and they are so cute
and they cut like butter. These dies are now made in the USA and are 100% better than when they first introduced them.
First, a piece of green cardstock was embossed using the Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Bird Call. Using an ink blending tool, I highlighted the raised area with Vintage Photo Distressed Ink. Then on a separate piece of card stock, the Crafter's Workshop Brick Template was taped down to prevent it from moving. I used a spatula to spread the Metallic Gold Embossing Paste by Wendy Vecchi over the the brick pattern. The template was carefully removed and the cardstock was set aside to dry.
I washed the template and spatula immediately to make sure the Embossing Paste did not dry on them.
I didn't like the scarecrow laying flat and there isn't enough covered space to apply a dimensional So, Jon went over to our neighborhood farmer and got some hay to use behind the scarecrow to raise him up from the cardstock.
The Oak Leaf was also distress with Vintage Photo Distressed Ink and then highlighted with Persimmon Distressed Paints. The scarecrow's hat was colored with the Distressed Pens.
Using Tim's new Number Remnant Rub On, I added the number 5 to the card for Dylan's 5th birthday. He will like that!
