Fall Card by Joan

Fall is in the air in Indiana...well until this week which is to be in the 90's every day.  We attended a wonderful Concert by the Christian Group Legacy over the weekend and the entire place was decorated in fall colors.  It put me in the mood to make a card using these colors.  But, I am not getting out my fall decorations until after Labor Day.  How about you?

Craftable Dies - Parchment & LabelI made my flowers using crepe paper.  How fun  is that!  I started with white crepe paper and used my Pan Pastels and Distressed Inks to color them.    The paper underneath is made using water color paper.  First I stamped my distressed ink pads on my craft mat, spritzed with water and them moved the paper through it getting different colors and drips.  I dried it with my heat gun and them I applied Liquidtex paste over top and took crepe paper and pushed around giving it lots of texture.  The color came through very nicely, just like I wanted it to do.  I love the NEW die by Marianne on your right.  The frayed edges gives such a nice distressed look.  I just popped it up in the middle so the edges curled up and I loved that look..  I also popped up the layer underneath just in the middle so that the edges would kinda curl up.  I also used the distressed ink pads that I spritzed with water on it, again using water color paper.
I got several of my ideas from Mihaela.

Wow! A gorgeous Fall creation. I do love that die with the frayed edges...very cool. Your flowers are so pretty.
I won't put out Fall decorations until after Labor day, either. Of course, in my area of the South, summer flowers will be blooming for a long time yet. That is, if it is like usual. It has been a strange summer with much cooler than usual temps.
