Weekend Workshops

Thirty-five ladies attended Joan's Gardens Workshops this past weekend. We had a blast learning some new techniques, making 3 different projects and eating all the great dishes that everyone brought.

When we start to plan a workshop, Selma and I Skype together to decide on the techniques and products we want to teach.  Selma then designs the projects and I teach the ladies how to do them.
Selma joins us by Skype each day for a little bit.

Margaret Van Duyn from Illinois did a great job teaching us a new technique using Glitter Peel by Elizabeth Craft.  The card below with the pink Lotus shows what we learned.  Everyone loved it!!
I wish the picture showed the detail of the gorgeous glitter, but it doesn't.

Selma has posted the tutorial on her website for this card.  You can read all about it by clicking

The next project we made was this gorgeous box.  The ladies learned how to make the box and the rose.  The loved it!

Selma will be posting a tutorial for this box also, so be sure to check her blog for all the information.

Gretchen arrived on Sunday and she worked all day Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday cutting out the dies for all the projects.  She was a tremendous help and we had such a fun time together.  Thank you again Gretchen.

Gretchen looked like she  had been in a snowball fight with all the little pieces that had fallen out of the dies.

Darlene arrived Wednesday afternoon and she loves getting the shop back in order.  With all the new products we  receive everyday, it can get out shape pretty quick.  She certainly had her job cut out for her, but she did a fantastic job!  The shop looks so nice and so organized.  She is so much fun to have around!!  I will try and get some pictures to post later.  Thank you again Darlene!
I certainly could not have done everything without these two ladies!!!

Friday Workshop ladies
It was raining so we had to take the picture inside on Friday.

Saturday Workshop
Notice the Redbud tree blooming behind the ladies.

Sunday afternoon workshop.
This was taken outside the shop.

I believe everyone had a great time and I certaiinly always enjoy everyone!!!
A huge thanks to everyone for making this another very successful workshop!!!

So nice reading all about your weekend workshop and its success. I think it is so good that you girls are up on technology and Skyp'd with Selma during the process. That's great!

Joan, Julie and I had a marvelous time on Saturday. We were so excited we talked the entire 4 hours home and then went out to dinner and talked some more. We so appreciate all the time that you and your helpers put into the workshop. We are very excited that there will be more we can attend. Looking forward to it. Thanks again! We had a blast!

I am sure I speak for each and every person who attends in saying a HUGE THANK YOU to you and your staff. Each workshop I have attended is wonderful and your hospitality is awesome.
