Joan and Selma Challenges Returning for Fall

Selma and I are happy to be back creating Challenges for you each Thursday.  We are kicking off a new season with a fun Challenge and free gifts.

We hope you have had a great summer and are ready to join us in our challenge fun. To kick things off, we want to have a couple of give aways. I have been receiving lots of new products and would like to find out what is on the top of your Wish List. Here is how you have a chance to win:

Leave a comment on my blog telling me what die you don't own, but have it at the top of your Wish List. Is it a Cheery Lynn, Marianne or Spellbinders die? Just leave your comment below and tell me the name of the new (one you don't have) die and who manufactures it.

A second chance to win is to go to Selma's blog and leave a comment and tell her what embossing folder is at the top of your Wish List. Is it Sizzix, Cuttlebug, Marianne, or something else? You need to leave a comment on Selma's blog telling us which new embossing folder (and who manufactures it) that is on your Wish List.

Next Friday I will do a random drawing from all the comments and someone will win a beautiful Marianne Die valued approximately at  $14.00 and then a 2nd prize will be the new Sizzix Embossing Folder that Selma is featuring in her mini tutorial today called Flourish, Dots and Ribbons.  Be sure to go over to Selma's
by clicking here to read her mini tutorial and then get busy creating!

  • Use two different Embossing Folders to create a background like in Selma's card. (Directions will be on Selma's blog)
  • Use at least two different dies (preferably not layered dies - if you have them)
  • Use a sentiment
  • Use glitter and/or pearls
You will have until next Thursday (September 14) morning 6:00 AM EST to link your card/project. A winner will be chosen from the Random Drawing for week #01 challenge and will receive a pack of Webster Pages newest paper.  The winner will be announced Friday morning (September 15). You can enter more than once.  The winner will also be entered in the end of the year $100 gift certificate drawing.

Below are the guidelines.:

1.You must have a blog or post to the SCS gallery.
2.Post your challenge card to your blog.
3.Or if you are posting to the SCS gallery, you will need to use a special code to tag your card to the challenge. This week's code is JG00908 and needs to be posted with the challenge.
4.Link your card/project to the Blue Inlinkz icon listed at the bottom of the challenge.

Important, please have a direct link to your challenge card and not to your blog address.

I look forward to your comments and  I love seeing your cards! Thanks so much for playing!!

All of the dies are beautiful, but I think the one one I would get the most use out of is the Tag and Button Dies from Marianne. Welcome back to challenge land!

At the top of my wish list is the Marianne combo die/embossing folder...Swirls. So beautiful and elegant. My wish list for "only" die is Spellbinders Classic Ric Rac Edgeabilities. So versatile!

Joan,
I'm so glad your challenges are back! Summer was sure busy:). On the very top of my list is the Spellbinders Bird cage die set. I look at the TH one and it seams to be too big even for a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 card. not enough room for embellishments.

The Spellbinders Wonderful Wings die set is at the top of my wish list. Love your website and appreciate the chance to win prizes as well as see some beautiful designs.

Carole said...

Oh dear, that's a loaded question Joan as I love so many. Currently at the top of my list is Spellbinders Wonderful Wings.

Thanks Joan for giving us a chance to win a pack of Webster Pages, another of my favorite products.

This card is just awesome - but then your cards always are. :)

I know one die I want is the pine die I saw on one of your cards. Spellbinders, Cheery Lynn and Marianne dies are all such great tools to have! Would love a chance to win a Marriane die!

Hi Joan,

I see I am not alone in lusting after the Marianne Swirls embossing/cutting folder. I do not own any of her embossing folders (mainly due to price) but when viewing cards made with them on Splitcoast I always sigh and drool. Some day soon....

Selma is just the "best" at using all the wonderful tools of the trade from your site and making us all want one of everything. Thank you for using such an inspiring and talented teacher to help us see how to use all your wonderful products!

Lynn said...

I want so many of the dies from all 3 companies, but I believe that the Cheery Lynn Cathedral Lace Frame is the one at the top of my list. I already felt that way, but then saw what everyone said about Selma's card using that die, so I went and had a look at it. Wow! Such a gorgeous card, and now I want that die more than ever! I love your blog and your shop, btw. I'm so glad I found your site! Thanks for the chance to win such an awesome prize, too!

Sounds like a fun challenge! Will have to eye up Selma's sample and come up with an idea :-)
As for die cuts, there are always many on my wish list, but at the top of my list is a Spellbinders set I've been wanting ever since returning a borrowed set of it - the decked rectangles.

I have wanted the Ironworks Motifs since they were first shown in the Spellbinders Blog Hop that introduced them! I have been unable to find them in the 4 local crafts stores in my area! Having them would truly be a dream come true and they go right to the top of my wish list.
