For The Lady Card

This weekend we celebrate Mother's Day and honor the women in our lives.  It is a time to reflect on how much they mean to us and what an important part they have played in our lives.  Happy Mother's Day to each of you and I hope your day is filled with happiness and lots of love.
As I begin creating this card it brought back lots of memories.  First, I found this beautiful paper from Graphic 45 Le' Romantique which started my creative juices flowing.  I cut out the lady wearing a vintage hat and ran it through my Zutter Distresser machine to age it even more  I wish I could capture the true colors with my camera because even though the ribbon and bow look blue, they match the paper.

Yesterday I receive new Tim Holtz dies and one was this Sewing Room Die  I used the back of the same DP to cut it out and then cut off the stand the Dress Form stands on.  I found a perfect match for the background paper in my stash and added just the right color cardstock for the border paper.

Then I headed over to my shop to see what else I could use on the card and found this beautiful embellishment  by Prima Flowers that looks like a ladies broach.  Isn't it perfect for this card?

The bow is tied with silk ribbon by May Arts using the Bow Easy.  I stamped the word Daughter with JustRite's newest stamp collection called Family Garden CL-02145 and cut it out using Spellbinders Tags. This was a very fun card to make even though I sure do miss my Mom at times like this.
Happy Mother's Day my friends!

Happy Mothers Day Joan! My mom is gone three years and it does get a bit easier but it still hurts. Just keep your memories in the forefront and it helps. God is blessing your mom everyday.
Your card is fabulous. How vintage can one get? Love it. You are so creative and it inspires me so much. Thank you for sharing with us.
