Workshop Success!!

Wow what a wonderful weekend!  Saturday, we had 16 who attended my workshop and on Sunday there were 6 more ladies.  Everyone enjoyed the projects that Selma and I planned.  (pictures below).  My next workshop will be June 25 and 26. 2011.

Sunday's Class with everyone busily working.

These gals were  part of Saturday's Class.  This picture was taken last summer at our August Workhop. (notice the trees and everything green and the doors opened)
I am showing you this picture because I was so busy on Saturday that I completely forgot to take any pictures.  I was so mad at myself, but once everyone left there wasn't much I could do about it except show you this picture.

Selma attended both of the workshops via Skype.  How fun was that!!  She was able to talk to everyone and give helpful hints.  Modern technoligy is fantastic especially since she lives in the state of Washington and I live in Indiana.  She and I have been crafting together this way too.

Selma and I planned what we wanted to do for this workshop and then she got busy and created the projects during the time I was tending to things with my Mom.  Thank you so very much Selma.
The projects were awesome and everyone loved them.
Following her instructions, I created the projects to show the classes.  Aren't they gorgeous!!!  She has done a wonderful Tutorial for you on how to make the Explosion box and
Teacup.  You can read it here.

Explosion Box with Tea Cup inside!

The inside of the Explosion Box .
Can't you just imagine
the teacup being used for a Mother and Daughter Banquet,
birthday gifts, and many other ideas.  It is so fun to make too!

Graphic 45 Box Project

This is is a very nice sturdy box (available for sale) that we covered with Graphic 45 Springtime Paper.
Next I taught the ladies Selma's technique she uses for making these flowers.  They are made out of
cream colored cardstock, using the Tool Kit and different inks.  Everyone loved doing them including me!!
Selma is planning on doing a Tutorial on it tomorrow, so be sure and watch for it.

A new Technique (for me and all the ladies) called Serigraph that Selma used to create this beautiful card!

The card was done on glossy cardstock.  First, the La Blanche stamp was stamped, colored and highlighted.
Then the Heartfelt Creations Flourishes were stamped with VersaMark Watermark pad
and heat set.   Tim Holtz Distressed inks in yellow, blue and green were stamped with a large dauber and blended very well.  After they were heat set, black swirls were added and also heat set.  We all loved this and some beautiful creations were done.

I had several of you write to tell me they would like to see pictures of the shop after it was redone.
So, below is what the girls found when they arrived on Saturday and Sunday.  Everyone was pleased and excited.

I was so blessed to have Darlene, Jackie, Cathy and Linda help me get it all put back together before everyone arrived.  Thank you girls from the bottom of my heart!!!!!

We moved the "wall" back all the way to the window which really opened things up and gave us so much more room.  Also, this added a lot more pegboard space for hanging things.

Spellbinders, JustRite, Embosssing Folders
and Sarah Kay (new stamps arriving today)

Two Tired Dogs!
My neice Cathy came down from Wisconsin on Thursday to help me get things ready.  She brings her Dauchshund Sammy to play  with Whiskers (our Westie).  These workshops just wear them out. Sammy takes
over Whiskers bed, but Whiskers finally decides there is room for both of them.

I wish all of you could have been here this weekend.  We certainly have a grand time, excellent food and lots of laughter.

Joan your workshops are always fabulous. I love how you want to have everyone completing beautiful projects with top of the line products. It was so fun to work with you designing them and then being able to be at the workshop even though I am all the way across the country. Your shop is fabulous -- Jon did a great job building and painting those purple shelves. You and the gals did a great job displaying all the products. I would love to be there to shop in it.

Hi, Joan: Love all the projects you and Selma presented. What a terrific idea about having Selma on Skype. Would love to attend sometime! It would be fun, too, if those of us who are out of state could all attend by Skype! Just sayin'.......! TFS

The projects you did for your class are over-the-top! I'm sure all the ladies had a fabulous time and showed off their gorgeous projects when they got home! What a great idea to Skype . . . did you have a large screen TV at the front of the class so that everyone can see? How fun is that!

Thank Joan and all who helped getting everything ready. I enjoyed myself and loved my projects. I stayed with the group this time (no working ahead) but my box seems more than a little lopsided. Oh well, it's still pretty.
