I decided after seeing all the gorgeous cards our Guest Designers have done using so many of the beautiful flower stamps, that I would do something a little different and use just a sentiment stamp from JustRite.
First of all I used a premade box that was black. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it yet, so I painted it with Tim Holtz Crackle paint and then used Distress Ink to antique it, using several colors. After it dried, I covered it with Webster Pages Paper, inside and out.
Next I use Lacey Square Nesties, Square Nesties and Oval Nesties to cut using Spellbinders 2 copper colors of Craft Foil 5"X7". I embossed the Lacey Square with the Swiss Dots and the Square with Argyle Embossing Folders. Using Adirondack Black Acrylic Paint Dabbers the copper was distressed to give it an old feeling. JustRite's new border in the
Greatest Joy Stamp set was placed on top of the Oval Nestie (uninked) and ran through the Vagabond making an indentation with a design which allow the Paint Dabber to distress it. Can you see that? It looks very nice IRL. The JustRite Sentiment also from The Greatest Joy was stamped onto the copper using Black StazOn Ink. I don't use this ink for anything else, but for a shinny, slippery surface it works wonderful.
I wish the true color would photograph, but the flash changes the color of it. All 3 pieces are a copper color, so please use your imagination.
I wanted to do a quick card in addition to my box as our daughter's birthday is tomorrow, so the easiest thing to do is to grab some beautiful Webster paper. What a beautiful background it makes.
First, I needed to change the color slightly, so the paper was distressed with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distressed Inks. Then again using Lacey Squares (can you tell I love those dies), a piece of copper was cut out from Spellbinder's Craft Foil. Next the Sentiment was stamped using JustRite's Cherish The Memories Stamp set. After that, the metal was ran though the Vagabond using the Argyle Embossing folder and antiqued with Adirondack Black Acrylic Paint Dabbers
Next, I sprayed adhesive onto a piece of Tim Holtz Grunge Board and covered it with a piece of plain Designer paper. After drying, the Tim Holtz Tattered Rose Die was use to cut out several flowers.
JustRite''s Happy Birthday stamp was stamped all over the flowers and then embossed with Ranger Embossing Powder. While still warm, the ends of the flowers were curled using my fingers and a round little wooden tool I have laying around. Each flower/layer was glued together using my Glue Gun. A flower button was added to the center. Everything was assembled with Therm-o-Web Glue dots.
Again, I wish the metal photographed better...or I was better at it..
Thanks again. I hope you will join us in this wonderful JustRite Blog hop and enter this week's Challenge. One lucky person will be winning this fabulous $191.50 prize.
