My favorite time of year is spring and I love Redbud trees. Mine is blooming at it's peak right now. I sure wish it would stay this way all summer. But then, I guess we wouldn't have anything to look forward to each year.
Isn't it beautiful? What is your favorite season and what is your favorite tree?

Beautiful Lilacs
Friday, April 23, 2010 Labels: HouseThere just isn't anything much better than a beautiful bouquet of Lilacs sitting on my kitchen table. The fragrance is so soothing and refreshing. I think our trees this year are the best they have been in years. Do you love Lilacs as much as I do? We have the promise of rain all weekend, so they might not be as pretty come Monday as they are today. I just wish you could get a whiff of the delightful fragrance.
Thanks for stopping by and visiting with me today. Have a great weekend. If it rains I might get a card made, if not I will be working in my gardens. Things are looking pretty good, but I hope we can get some mulching done before the weeds start popping up again.
Bobby and Me Card
Wednesday, April 21, 2010 Labels: CardsThe Bobby and Me Stamp by Penny Johnson was used to make this card. Isn't it the cutest thing? I colored the image with my Copic markers and then I used an old piece of towel, saturated it with Blender fluid to give both the shirt and pants some texture.
Paper from the Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety Pack 6x6 paper was used since it matched the color of the Copic Markers so well. Inking the edges of the Nestie Label 9 seemed to make the image stand out. Before I started, I very lightly air brushed the background too take away from the stark white cardstock.
It was hard to make this boy card, because bows, flowers and pearls just don't suit this little guy. Therefore, I used Twill ribbon with a buckle. I think it came together rather nicely.

Card from Webster Pages New Products
Sunday, April 11, 2010 Labels: CardsThis card is made using Webster Papers newest Vellum and Die Cut kit. Be sure to scroll down to see everything.
What a fun and easy card to make. I wanted to use WP's new trim on this card and I thought the color combination was beautiful. (click to enlarge so you can see it better)
Once I cut and folded the Neenah Card Stock I had a 6x5.5. The paper is 6x6 and I didn't want to trim any from the top or the bottom as I would have cut off some of the beautiful design and the scalloped edges. Therefore, I split the paper where the trim is located and it worked out perfectly.
Next I stamped the Butterfly from Inkadinkado's Gem Stone stamp with Memento Brown Ink, colored it with Copic Markers, cut it out, added flower soft in the middle and Kaiser's Rhinestones on the wings. Then it was popped up with Therm-O-Web's Dimensionals.
The thank you and border were stamped with JustRite Just a Note Stamp set, cut out with Spellbinders Circle Dies. The Dahlia Spellbinder die cut out the background. Those were also popped up with the same Dimensionals.
Webster's papers are wonderful, because with just a few additions you can have a beautiful card. Don't miss seeing everything by scrolling down!
If you would like to place an order, please e-mail me. Remember, I only charge what it costs me to ship to you.

Joan's Super Fine 120# Cardstock
Labels: All Store Items, PaperI have been testing 120# Cardstock for the last few weeks and I have decided to carry this Super Fine Paper. I was trying to find a heavier paper to be use with the Copic markers and this paper works beautifully. Some of the advantages of the paper are:
It doesn't bleed through the back of the card stock, so you can use it as your main cardstock.
You won't use as much ink, because it doesn't bleed through.
It seems easier to blend colors because of the smoothness of the paper.
Since it is more expensive than the 80# Neenah paper, you can just keep it for coloring.
I am going to sell it two ways. You can purchase 25 sheets for $10.00 plus shipping or 15 sheets for $6.00 plus shipping.
New Webster Pages Papers and Trim
Saturday, April 10, 2010 Labels: CardsI will be introducing new products from Webster Pages Sunday evening about 4:30, so I thought I would entice you a little by using some of the new things on this card.
The circle paper is from the new Garden Gala Vellum Pack. A border was added using Martha Stewart's Garden Trellis Punch to make the Neenah Cardstock longer so it would fit. About 2 inches of Webster new Turquoise Trim was added to cover up the split in the paper addition.
Using the Fair Isle Pendant Spellbinder die, a piece of the matching vellum was cut and placed on top of the circle paper using the Therm-O-Web Dimensionals.
Martha Stewarts new Butterfly punch was used on each corner, but I didn't like the plain cardstock showing through, so I added a strip of Webster's new Paper ribbon behind the butterfly. After doing so, I loved the look of butterflies flying in the sky. What do you think?
I colored the Dogwood Flower from the Plant a Little Love Stamp set by JustRite. It was cut and curled and then popped up with Therm-O-Web Dimensionals before placing it on top of the Vellum.
The final touch was to cut out a border from the same stamp set using two of the Spellbinder's Circles. The border was also popped up with the Dimensionals.
Double click on the image for a better view.
Please check back Sunday evening to see all the new exciting products from Webster's Pages.
Copic Storage
Friday, April 9, 2010 Labels: Copic Markers, Storage
I have recently seen on several different blogs a new ways to store Copic markers. After some research on the internet, I found two of these Copic Marker Storage Units at a very good price. I have them arranged in order according to the Copic Marker Color Chart. I can see quickly which colors I need to order and which markers blend together. I am so thrilled with this new storage for my Copic Markets.
As you can see, I can put 4 markers per little slot and the entire unit holds 288 markers. The unit is slightly slanted, so the markers do not fall out. This new storage system is another reason for me to be a happy stamper today. I love being organized, but it certainly does take time.
For those of you who have asked, I purchased my storage unit from
http://www.kolinskyartbrushes.com/product.php?productid=37601cat=0page=1
From what I have been told, they are out of stock until the end of April.
**Disclaimer: I am in no way associated with this retailer, but I am very pleased with their service and how quickly my order arrived.

Storage and Organization
Labels: Storage
Good friends are so important and one of my very best friends truly blessed me this week. She called to ask me if there was anything she could do to help me out. Boy, could I use her help!!!!
I have wanted to get all my Spellbinders and stamps organized and there just never seems to be enough hours in the day. So Jackie came over and spent the day labeling all of my stamps and Nesties.
Then she made dividers for the different categories. We decided that the stamps would be much better organized by theme. When I first started the organization process, I kept them separate by Company. Now if I need a flower stamp, all I have to do is go to the flowers and shazam there are all my flowers. I am one happy stamper!!!
These file drawers are from Lowes and fit nicely under my 6 foot tables. This is nice because they are directly under my stamping area.

Gift Card
Thursday, April 8, 2010 Labels: Cards, Gift Cards
One of my customers asked me to make her friend a birthday Gift Certificate. They are so much fun to make, so I was delighted.
I started by using paper from the Graphic 45 La Romantique Paper Pad and I lined the inside (see below) with a coordinating paper. You wouldn't have to do this all the time, but the back side of the paper has a wedding theme which wouldn't be appropriate for this gift.
I used the double loop punch on a strip of black paper and then embossed it with one of the Cuttlebug border embossing folders. A piece of lace was applied at the top to cover the separation of the papers.
The Blossom Spellbinders die cut out the background for the sentiment which was stamped from JustRite's Just a Note Stamp set. I like it because it is small and fits nicely on the front of a card. Them-o-Web Dimensionals popped it up. A pretty May Arts Silk Bow was added.
This is the inside of the gift card. Score Pal's 1/8 inch score tape was used to attach the sides to make a pocket for the gift certificate. I added a strip of a contrasting paper to give the inside some pizzazz and it also shows through the punched out loops. An envelope was made out of black and beige striped paper using the Martha Stewart Score Board Envelope Template. I just love that thing!!
I had a very nice note from the receiver of the certificate saying how much she loved it. Please keep me in mind if you need a gift for a special friend.
