Spellbinders

Sunday, February 28, 2010
I absolutely love my Nesties. Seldom do I make a card without using at least one of the dies from my Spellbinder Collection. Do you all use the Rubber Mat from Spellbiinders to emboss? Recently I have found several of my customers that didnt' understand the need for it. If you have any questions about that, please e-mail me or give me a call at 574-656-3663.
I have many other Spellbinder dies in stock besides the ones I am featuring today and if I don't
have them I can get them for you very quickly.  Just ask.

Two Cards

Friday, February 26, 2010
We have a friend whose Mother passed away this week and I wanted to make her a card to let her know
we have been thinking about their family.  During the day that I spent at the hospital while my sister-in-law had open heart surgery I colored this JustRite image from the Beautiful Blossom's collection.  I thought it made a beautiful card.

This next card is made for my Sister-In-Law who just had open heart surgery.  I talked with her today, she is home and is getting along pretty well.  It was a tough surgery and she had several rough days, but she said today that each day is getting better.  She loves vintage things, so I thought this card would be very suitable for her.

I love the new Flower Soft Toppers.  What a great way to make a quick card.  They come in a package of 6 with two designs per pack.  You can see them all here.   I used the Labels 8 to cut out the girl which gave the card more interest.

I also used one of the Webster Paper Pages from the Post Card/Cherry pack and cut out the edge, curled it  and added it to the DT.  You can click on the image to enlarge it to see it better.

Green grass is just what many of us northerners are waiting to see.  Flower Soft's addition of the new Ultra Fine Sage is a perfect grass color and because it is so fine it looks so natural.  It is amazing what this small addition of texture does for a card.

The new Ultra Fine Flower Soft in the Raspberry Fizz is a  perfect match to add a touch of texture to the little girl's bow.  This new Ultra Fine Flower Soft is wonderful because it is so fine that it works perfect on any image.  You can see all the new colors here.

Family Time

Wednesday, February 24, 2010
Birthdays are very special at our house.  My son-in-law makes fun of us because he said all he ever received for his birthday was a cake.  But, we celebrate all week long if we can.  My Mom brought me up that way and Lori was raised  having a party every year.  Well guess what, her girls (Kara and Kelsey) birthday's were always a big celebration and now they are doing the same with their children.  So, I have been busy doing family things and oh how I love it.

This past weekend we celebrated Mazelee's 5th birthday
and Daitin's 4th birthday at a place called Bouncy. Another
great place for a kids party. All kinds of things for them to bounce,
slide and run on. They had a special rooms all decorated with
birthday things for the birthday boys and girls. They served
pizza, deli tray for sandwiches, drinks and cupcakes.
Mazelee loves Tinker Bell so her Mom (Kara) had a Tinker Bell cake made
and Daitin loves Spiderman so he had a Spiderman cake.
What a fun time we all had, even though I forgot my camera.

Bleydn with his Mom Kelsey (my granddaughter) at
his 3rd birthday party.  His party was held at McDonalds in
the play room.  What a great place to have a party for
kids, because they can run and scream as much as they want to
without being scolded by their parents.  McDonalds served
all the little kids chicken fingers, hamburgers, fries, drinks and even a cake.
This is the first time we had a party here, but I am sure it won't be the last.
I couldn't believe it, but I forgot my camera again.

Copic Marker Classes coming to Joan's Gardens

Thursday, February 11, 2010

Tammy Hershberger

We still have a few seats left, but you will need to contact me right away.

Copic Marker Classes are coming to Joan's Gardens in North Liberty, Indiana.

Have you been wondering just what makes Copic markers so great? Do you have some Copics and feel that you’re not using them to their full potential? Have you been debating about buying some, but just aren’t sure you’ll know what to do with them?

If you fit any of these descriptions, then you will want to attend the Copic 101 class on Saturday, March 6th with guest teacher Tammy Hershberger. Tammy is a Copic-certified designer who has served on the design teams for many stamp companies, and is manager of a stamping store in Smithville, Ohio called Toyrifix. You can see some of her beautiful coloring here.

The morning Copic 101 class will be from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. You will work on coloring three different images, and will make a card with each image before you go. This class is completely hands-on, and you will need to bring your own markers, adhesive, scissors, etc. A list of the marker colors and other information will be sent to those signing up for the classes. This is a perfect opportunity to try out the Copic markers if you’re undecided about purchasing, or want to get the most out of the ones you already have.

Tammy will also be offering an advanced class from 1:00 P.M to 4:00 P.M. In this class, one of the things she will cover will be the airbrush system along with some advanced and fun techniques.

The cost of each class is $30.00. You can sign up for one or both classes. Please e-mail me your reservation for the classes ASAP. Your classes will need to be paid in full in order to reserve your spot. All class monies will go to the instructor.

Birds in the Snow

Wednesday, February 10, 2010
I am sure you have heard about all the snow out east. A very good friend of mine sent me this picture of a tree in her yard. I don't know if you can see all the Cardinals birds, but what a beautiful sight. I counted at least 20 of them. I wish they were in my back yard as we usually only get a pair or two. They are my favorite bird too! I thought you might enjoy this picture as much as I did. You might need to click on the picture to get a better view.

I am getting to the end of working on my taxes, which is a good thing since my tax appointment
is tomorrow. Soon you will be seeing some creative things from me - I promise!!! Thanks for
your patience!!!!
