Webster's Pages Papers plus 2 Cards

Sunday, January 24, 2010

How fun is this! I started out with one of the sheets from the Post Card/Sweet Cherry
Paper pack (discontinued)( (they are 6x6) and then I cut the background from the back side of the same print for my Happy Birthday using the Lattice Pendant by Spellbinders. It was popped up with the Therm -O-Web. The Happy Birthday was stamped with JustRite's Just A Note stamp and the Square Borders and then cut out
using Labels One Nesties. I cut out the smallest Lattice Pendant and folded it in half to finish off the top of the Birthday Sentiment. Pearls and a silk bow were added on the Pendant for embellishments. Fun and easy and I think quite beautiful!!!

Another sheet from Webster's Paper Pack Post Cards/Sweet Cherry.
Isn't it fabulous? I pasted the paper onto a 6x6 Neenah Card Stock,
The I cut from another sheet of the same print, the Lattice Pendant. The edges were inked
for a better contrast.

I stamped the image from JustRite's new My Garden stamp set with Black
Memento Ink and cut the image out. I colored it with my Copic markers.
Then I stamped the border and cut it out the inside with the Peony Nestie
and the outside with the Scalloped Circle. I also colored the leaves with the
Copics. Everything was popped us with the Therm O Web Dimensionals

Four butterflies were cut out from the scraps of the back side of the paper that
the Pendant was cut from and then colored with the Copics as I felt
the contrast was needed. Pearls were added to the center of the flowers for
added interest.

Because I used two sheets of paper, I had this image that
I could cut out and put on the inside of the card. Doesn't
that class up the card? I am going to make an envelope,
now is when I wish I had some of the 12x12 paper. I think
I am going to have to get some of that for this very reason.

I sure had fun making these cards and they are so me!!!

First Tractor Ride with Grandpa (pictures)

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

Last Saturday Todd, Kelsey (our granddaughter), Bledyn and baby Beckon spent the day with us. Todd is doing some remodeling for us, so that gave Kelsey and I a chance to enjoy the day together too. We worked on a birthday card for Daitin who turned 4 yesterday and a card for Bleydn's birthday who is 3 today. Bleydn loved helping me push the buttons on the Cricut to make their cards.

The highlight of the day (besides watching our new bathroom come together) was seeing the excitement in a little boy when he got to take his first tractor ride with Grandpa. Oh what fun!!

Although, I am not sure who had the most fun, Bleydn or Grandpa.

Jon and I thank God almost every day for blessing us with being able to watch our Great-Grandchildren grow up. What joy it is for us. (We have 6 now)

Cards for the Boys

Bleydn wanted to help make Daitin and his birthday cards, and I know how the little ones love pushing the buttons on the Cricut. So, I made these two cards very "guy" like and simple.
I first stamped Happy Birthday all over the cards, cut out and paper pieced the train and truck with the Cricut Mickey and Friends Cartridge and then cut out their names out using the George cartridge. Little kids love to see their name ,even if they are too young to read.
So the cards aren't frilly today, but they fit my boys and that is what it is all about. Mazelee's birthday is next month and I can make a girly card for her.
Thanks for stopping by today and visiting with my family.

Martha Stewart Score Board Tutorial

Sunday, January 17, 2010
Martha Stewart's new Score Board The board holds a 12x12 piece of paper and you can score every 1/8 inch without moving your paper.
It comes with a Scoring tool and an envelope template that I dearly love. Below I am showing you the steps in making an envelope to match your cards. You can make several sizes and I chose to make the 6x6 using a 10x10 square piece of paper.
$19.99 plus shipping.
Please e-mail me if you would like to purchase one or more of Martha Stewarts new Scoring Boards.

The envelope template

A closer view of the envelope template showing
the different sizes you can make.

You place the template in the top corner edge
and then place your paper along the edge that contains
the measurements. Using the 10x10 paper,
my paper hangs over the template slightly. That
is okay.
I scored all 4 edges of the paper at 3 3/4 for the 6 inch

envelope.

After scoring, you clip the corners where the
two score lines meet which allows you to fold
the score lines smoothly.

A close up picture of where I clipped it where
two lines meet.

Fold on all 4 score lines using a bone folder (I
used the one that I scored with that comes with the board).
Then I ran a piece of tape on the 3 sidesthat are folded together.
Notice the inside of the envelope is printed which
is what you will get when you use double sided paper.
I can't wait to get in my new Graphic 45 paper, as
it will be so beautiful!!!

The envelope is completed and ready to insert
my card. It looks longer than it really is, as it
is a 6x6. It is just the way I had to photograph
the picture.

This shows a better view of the finished envelope.

This process didn't take 5 minutes and I so love the look.
How about you? Fun, fun and more fun. I can see the
beautiful envelopes now.

Display Stands

This is the stand I used to hold the 2010 calandars that I made for Christmas gifts.

I am getting lots of praises on these Display Stands. You can use them for so many things.
How about making a photo album of your Christmas pictures? What a great gift idea for your Dad and Mom or your In-laws?

The price is right too as they sell for only $7.99 and are made of a very nice sturdy metal. I hope to start next year's Christmas present soon and will again use these great stands.

Please e-mail me if you would like to purchase any of these stands. I accept Visa, Master Card, Discover and PayPal. If you have not ordered from me before, I will need your mailing address, your telephone number and how you wish to pay.
