2010 Calendar

Below is the rest of the calendar I made for Christmas presents. I used a theme each month that represents that month.

My Cricut cut all the parts of the calander. Many dimensionals were used to pop things up and I absolutely loved my new Creatopia to glue all the small things and words. What a time saver it is.

I just loved this cross!

I stamped the flowers on the flower pot using a border
stamp from Crafty Secrets. I paper pieced the flowers.

Isn't this the cooliest butterfly? It is on the Home
Accents Cricut Cartridge. I mixed blue and orange
Flower Soft (so that it matched my colors) for the body (thorax)
of the butterfly.

Red, white and blue represents our freedom in
the United States.A great time to remember what
our soldiers have done for us!

I used Cuttlebug Embossing foloders for both
the bird and the bird house. Black pearls were added
for the bird's eye and the hole in the birdhouse.

September was my hardest month. I worked almost
2 days on this month as I just wouldn't come together
for me. I changed things several times, but was pleased
with my final results. The stamp is from JustRite's
Birthday Wishes Stamp set.

I wanted to use pumpkins for October
and this paper was perfect. I found it at our local
scrapbook store and I just loved it. Martha
Stewart's large spider punch was perfect too.

November is the month for giving thanks for what
our forefathers have done for us. I was amazed how cute
the little church turned out. I cut it out using
pattern paper and this is how it turned out. I loved it!
December is a month of joy and celebration for Christ's birth.
The trees are popped up with dimensionals by Therm-o-Web.
I used the Copic glitter pens to add some gold accent to the
trees.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing the calendar I made. Printing the calender on the computer allows me to print a 2911 calender and send to everyone who received our gift this year.
I am sorry for he large print for the first post I made with the calendar. I changed it about a half dozen times and it was correct before I hit publish post, but enlarged the print when I posted it. Nothing I did corrected it. Blogger does that at times and I certainly wish I knew how to fix it, but I don't. I hope it does not do the same time with this post.

Our Gift to friends and family

Saturday, December 26, 2009

I am going to show you 3 months of the calendar I made for 20 friends and family. I will post more of the months as soon as I can. My niece and her family are arriving tonight from Wisconsin, so I have lots to do before they arrive.

I wanted to give you a quick preview of what I made and why I haven't posted any cards for several weeks. I truly thought I could do this project in a 3 day weekend, but it took more like 3 weeks. I had such a good time and enjoyed it so much. Jon did all the wires with my new Zutter machine for me or I would have never gotten done. He enjoyed that too!

The display stand is something I will be carrying in my store. It is very nice and heavy and perfect for a calendar, cookbook, photo album or similar items.

I printed the calender in Excel. I first tried to stamp them and then realized how long that was going to take, so I went to the computer for help and I liked how it turned out.

More to come!!!

Zutter Wire and Stand.

Snowman cut with the Cricut and colored with my Copic markers.
Snow Flakes punched with Martha Stewart Snowflake punch.
Paper from SU

I used the Cricut for the heart and love. SU
paper

Spring and Shamrock cut with the Cricut and
Lion Ribbon was used for the bow. SU Paper.

Merry Christmas!!!! (pictures)

Thursday, December 24, 2009
Merry Christmas to you and family! We certainly feel Christmas blessings at our house with all the little ones. With conflicting schedules, we needed to have our Christmas last night and what a night it was. Our "kids" all drive down from Michigan and as they entered Indiana it started to get icy. By the time they left, all roads were like a sheet of glass and they were only able to travel about 10 miles an hour. You can imagine how thankful we were when we received the calls from all 3 families that they were home safe.

Can't you just imagine the noise in our house with 8 little ones under 5, Lily who is 7, plus a baby???? Times like these make memories and Jon and I are so thankful to be able to watch our Great-Grandchildren grow up.

Merry Christmas to you and you families and we wish you a very blessed New Year. I hope 2010 will be good year for you all! We truly thank you for your business this year and most of all we are so thankful for all the friends we have made in 2009. May God bless you all!

Sofa: Jon, Lily, Anna, Lisa
Floor: Daitin, Mazelee and Ruby
Todd and Kelsey couldn't leave until Todd got off work, and because of the ice the trip to our house took them much longer than normal. All the little ones were getting hungry and tired, so I decided I better get a group picture (without Bleydn and Beckon) while I still could.

Todd, Kelsey, Bleydn and baby Beckon
This picture was our gift from Todd and Kelsey for Christmas. I decided to use it for this post since the boys weren't here in time for the group picture.

Unwrapping gifts - what fun! I thought you might enjoy seeing their excitement as they unwrap their gifts too. The squeals and shouts of excitement just make my heart jump.

Mom at 95- able to enjoy her Great-Great- Grandchildren! What a blessing!
p.s......Mom sends her thanks for all the beautiful birthday cards many of you made and sent to her. She love them and can't quit talking about it!!!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!

Christmas Past

Sunday, December 13, 2009

Christmas morning was always very early at our house when I was a little girl. My brother and I would wake up our parents about 2:00 AM to see the gifts that "Santa" had brought to our house. Of course, many
times Mom and Dad would have just gone to bed. I changed this when I got married and we started opening on Christmas Eve, because I didn't like being so tired all day on Christmas.

I have always been so excited about Christmas and I think I believed in Santa until I was in the 4th grade. I was so mad at the girl that told me about the real Santa.

Now, I am very thankful I know the real meaning of Christmas and that we celebrate the birth of our
Lord Jesus. Let us always remember "the reason for he season!!!!!

It seems Christmas gift giving has gotten so way out of control. Last year my daughter and
granddaughters decided we were making most of our gifts for each other this year . That is why
you have not seen me post any cards recently. I have been working night and day on my projects and yesterday I finally passed the half way mark. Therefore, I will not be posting a sale again this week.

After Christmas I will have pictures for you of my projects. You all are probably just as busy as I am with Christmas less than two weeks away. I love January and February because of the relax days before spring gardening starts. In 2010 I plan to get started on my Christmas gifts much earlier. We will see!!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by I hope you are enjoying this time of year as much as I am!!!!

Christmas at the Frickers

Thursday, December 10, 2009

This Christmas tree is in our "parlor". My granddaughters have always called it the "pretty room" and still insist we open our gifts in there even though our family is out growing it.
I wish I could get a better picture of the tree, because it is so beautiful. My nephew helped me decorated it this year and he is still talking about what I put on my tree. We put the lights on first and then I add grapevine (I cut a grapevine wreath up), eucalyptus, dried flowers, and silk flower stems....all for texture. Then I add angel dolls, Santa heads, larger flowers, ribbon, bulbs, small angels, bows and any other thing I have collected over the years.

This tree is in our family room and decorated for the little kids. I have stuff animals, Santa lights, candy cane lights and garland, Christmas cards and anything a little one would enjoy.
They open their gifts first and while they are playing with their new toys, the adults open their gifts in the pretty room. With 10 little ones it gets very noisy and hectic. But, what joy they all bring to us.

We also have a tree on our back porch, but it is 7 above zero this morning with extreme winds and I am not going outside to get a picture.

How is your Christmas decorating coming? I would love to hear what you do. Thanks so much for stopping by on this cold wintry day. I am making lots of gifts this year for many on my gift list, so I have not been able to get any cards made to post. I will be posting my gifts once i deliver them.
Click on the trees to enlarge them for a better view.

Mom's Party (picture)

Monday, December 7, 2009

Mom's party was a tremendous success. There were at least 150 people (silly me forgot to have a guest book) who attended and Mom was so thrilled and shocked. She kept telling me that no one would come.

The first couple arrived at exactly 1:00 PM and the last left at 5:00 PM. It truly was a wonderful day and we got to see people we hadn't seen for years. Some of them we didn't recognize until we talked with them.

The weather was cold, but the sun was shining and we didn't get any snow. A perfect December day.

Mom's birthday is actually December 19, so if you still want to send a card you have time.
She has received lots of them from many of you and she is so pleased. Thank you!!!!!!
We had the party early in the month, due to the busy Christmas season and Indiana's December weather.

Thank you again for all the warm wishes to my Mom!

My Mom - Ruby Salyer

Thursday, December 3, 2009

On December 19th, my Mom will be 95 years old. Isn't she a pretty lady?
Just imagine all the new things she has seen during her life.
My family started arriving on Monday to help us get ready for her party that we are having this Saturday.
The will be here until next. week. They have been a big
help. I even have all my Christmas decorating done in the house and Jon has his work done outside.
I will probably be scarce for a few days while we are celebrating. I won't be posting a sale for this Sunday night. Of course, you can always order anything shown on my sight for sale that is still in stock. Just email me or give me a call at 574 656 3663.
A huge thanks to all of you who have already sent Mom a card. What a thrill it is for her!

Beckon - a new Great-Grandson (picture)

Tuesday, December 1, 2009

We have been blessed with the birth of another Great-Grandson. He makes our 6th and we feel we are so fortunate to have great-grandchildren at our age.

Beckon Preece (French for Prince) Jarvis was born on November 13 at 7:00 PM. He weighed 7# exactly. This picture was taken Thanksgiving day.

I was so upset because he was born during the time I was doing a craft show. I couldn't get there for his birth as I have for the other babies, but as soon as we were done at the show that evening, we headed to Michigan to see him.

Kelsey (our granddaughter) and Todd are wonderful parents and Bleydn loves his new brother.

This next few days I am getting ready for the big celebration party for my Mom. My brother arrived last night and my nephew will arrive this evening. The rest of the family will be in later in the week. Oh what fun we are going to have. I just hope I get everything done I need to do.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting with me. I can't tell you how much I appreciate all of you!!!!
