Looks What is now in my Craft Room!!!
Saturday, October 31, 2009 Labels: Family
Look what is now in my craft room. Winter time is quickly approaching in Indiana and Jon needs a place to store his motorcycle for the winter. What a good wife I am to give him some space (actually unused) in my craft room. It only makes sense since I have plenty of room, but I will always tease him about it.

Boxes #3 project
Wednesday, October 28, 2009 Labels: Cards, workshop
This Decorative Box was our 3rd project we made last Saturday.
I wanted it to have a different look so, I used the Martha Stewart
Lattice Punch on the bottom of the top and I loved how it turned out.
This box is a nice size for a small gift, box of candy or even something
truly special for that special person.

One of my favorite JustRite Stamps is their new small Damask Monogram set. I first embossed the C and border and then I used my Large Dauber with SU Ink all over the circle and did a process called Reverse Embossing. After I had completely covered the circle which was cut out using the circle Nestie, I took a paper towel and wiped the ink off. By doing that, the ink did not stick to the embossing.
The inside of the box looks as pretty as the outside because I used double sided Cosmo Cricket paper.
The ribbon is by Lion Ribbon and is wired. It was tied using the Bow Easy. Wired ribbon is great for this kind of project.
We certainly had a great time last Saturday and I plan to have another fun day after the first of the year.
Let me know if you think you might be able to join us some time. I hear rumors that Selma and some of her friends will be coming to a get together next spring. Oh what fun that will be.

Christmas Bag - Project #2
Tuesday, October 27, 2009 Labels: workshop
This Christmas Bag was a huge hit Saturday at our Get-Together. Barb Schram was able to attend our last Get-Together in August and she brought me the adorable Christmas Bag (below) she made out of a brown craft bag. I knew right then that I wanted to do something similar for our next Get-Together. As I was shopping for the bags, I found these pretty red lunch bags and decided I would use them for our Project.
The Christmas Bag would BE great for your special gifts this
Christmas Season. Saturday, the gals came up with lots
of different ideas that could be made such as a gardening bag, an Easter Bag and a Valentine Bag, etc.
I would love to hear your ideas too!!!

I had to leave the picture slightly on the dark side so you could see the textured roof. If I lightened it I lost
the details. Please click on the image to enlarge it for a better view.

I used two of the Cuttlebug Embossing Folders Snow Flake for
the roof and Divine Swirl for the Chimney,
Martha Stewart Icicle Punch and JustRite Something
Sweet for the sentiment.

The wreath was cut using my Cricut's Joy of the Season Cartridge
and the flower is from Petaloo. The black door knob is
from Kaiser Craft. The door is textured using the Cuttlebug
Houndstooth embossing folder.
Barb's House - isn't it as cute as can be???

Poinsetta Card for Saturday's Project
Monday, October 26, 2009 Labels: Cards
I am not posting a new sale this Monday since we are starting to ship all of the
Glue Glider Orders today. But as always, you can order any time. The
products I carry are listed on the left side of my blog under "Items I Sell Category".
This Poinsettia Card was designed for Saturday's Card Get-Together.
The girls wanted to used some of the new Martha Stewart Loop punches,
the Copic Markers and the Fluer De Lis Pendant Punch from Spellbinders.
So, I combine several things on the card. They really enjoyed it.
You can read the directions below.

I started with a 6x6 Neenah White card and cut a piece of green cardstock at 5.5 and used the new Martha Stewart Loop punch on the corners. Then I cut a 3.25x5 piece of of red card stock and punch the corners with the Loop punch and then punch all around the paper with the Loop Edger punch.
I used the Fluer De Lis Pendant from Spellbinders to cut out the white pendant.
One thing that I have found using these intricant designs is you MUST use a lighter weight paper (about 65# weight) and also use a piece of wax paper between the die and the paper.
Your pendant will come out of the die much easier and not tear.
I stamped two Poinsettias with Versa Mark Ink and then sprinkled red embossing powder and embossed the flowers. I cut it out and then colored it using my Copic markers. Yellow Flower Soft was added to the center of one of the flowers for interest. Then I cut into the petals and curled them a little. I glued the first flower down and then the 2nd flower was placed over and to the side of the bottom flower and popped up with some dimensionals.

Fall Harvest Party
Friday, October 23, 2009 Labels: Family
Sunday, we had our annual annual Fall Harvest Party in Michigan at my Philip and Lori's (my daughter). It was such a beautiful afternoon and we were able to be outside on her deck to carve the pumpkins. What a blessing!
Philip fixed a great big pot of his homemade spaghetti and Lori had pumpkin pies.
What a great meal it was!
The biggest thrill I have is being with all my family.(I am sure you all can relate) There are 9 little ones (soon to be 10)between my Great-Grandchildren and the 4 foster children that Lori and Philip have adopted.
Mazelee is tucked down behind Bleydn so you can see her and baby Dylan who just turned 1 year old is walking around somewhere.
A great day it was indeed!!!!!
Thanks for stopping by and visiting with me. I so appreciate it and love all your comments and emails.

Sympathy Card
Wednesday, October 21, 2009 Labels: Cards
Our new neighbor's little 5 year old son passed away last Thursday and we did not find out about it until he was buried on Monday. He was born with lots of problems and has struggled most of his life. But, my heart breaks for them and I wanted to send them a word of comfort.
I kept this card very simple letting the DP be my background and focal point. I punch the corners with my Martha Stewart Loop punches (in stock now) and attached the DP to a 6x6 card using Neenah White Cardstock.

Then sentiment is from JustRite's Thinking of You set. I cut it out using the Classic Oval Small Nesties S4112, sponged the edges for a more dramatic appearance and added a heart crystal. On the inside I stamped a verse from Verve and wrote a personal note.

Goodie Bag

At our last card making get together, Barb Schram brought me the cutest Christmas bag.
We all fell in love with it and I knew I wanted to do some thing using it as an example
sometime soon.
My daughter is having a Fall Harvest Party Sunday afternoon and I want to take my great-grandchildren a little gift. I made this cute little bag (keeping it simple) to put some Rice Krispy treats in to give to them
I think they will love it. I have other plans using this idea that I will be showing you later on.
I used my Cricut to cut out all the little squares, rectangles and ghosts. I used Martha Stewart's Checkerboard punch for the roof and the pumpkin and boo were stamped from the Witch Way to the Treats.
THANK YOU for helping make the Glue Glider sale a huge success! Thank you to those of you who helped spread the word. You have no idea how much I appreciate it and it truly shows what special friends you are!!

2 More Days Left
Wednesday, October 7, 2009
Your clue for today is one I hope you enjoy.
I was born in the 40's and I think Mom wanted a curly head blonde. Well, she got a blonde with no curls. So, as you can see from these pictures she gave me curls all of my young years. Doesn't my brother look like he is having fun? At least he didn't have to have curls.
I thought these pictures went along with your clue for today, which is:
It can be permanent but not curly!

Saturday, October 3, 2009Thanksgiving Card
Labels: Cards, Thanksgiving
I fell in love with the card that Becca created and even though my card is not exactly like hers, I loved some of her ideas.
I stamped the image from Crafty Secret's Thanksgiving Stamp set and color the images with my Copic markers. It was cut and embossed with with Spellbinders Label One Nesties. Before removing it from the die, I sponged the edges with my large daubers using Antique Linen by Ranger.
I inked one side of Spellbinders Flourish Impressibilities using a Brayer and the Daubers with Memento Rich Cocoa and ran it through my Cuttlebug. The color is brown IRL, but it looks red here and no matter what I did with my camera is still isn't the true color. I used the Ticket Punch from SU on the corners.
Martha Stewart Leaf Edger Punch was used on the sides and then on the bottom I used my new Martha Stewart Checkerboard Edger punch on the bottom for a different look. I love this new punch and I can see it will get lots of use. The little leaves that I punched out were used for an accent on the stamped image and also on the inside of the card.
The image and the Impressibility were attached with Therm-O-Web Dimensionals. I love the look of a raised image, how about you? I think it gives a bigger impact.
I place a piece of cream card stock underneath the leaves for a better impact and stamped the inside with
a verse from the Thanksgiving set.
