This yellow bush is a mystery bush to Mom and I. A friend gave it to her and eventually, I was able to get a start. The flower almost looks like a rose, as well as does the leaf. A sample of it
was sent to Purdue University and they also could not identify it.
Any ideas anyone?

Thanks Susie, but no it isn't it.
I have one of those. This actually looks like a mini rose, but they say it is not a rose bush. I need to try and get a closer picture of it so you could see the flower.
I appreciate your thoughts alot!!

What ever it is ... it's gorgeous!!! I clicked on your photo here for a larger view and it was nice to get a closer look a its beauty but still couldn't figure it out. Sorry I couldn't be of any help! Enjoy your weekend!
Hi Joan ... I had a similiar bush in my yard in Canada!! The flowers bloom really thick and quick and then in an instant they are gone. The bush itself can be quite unruly...mine grew to about 6' and every year I wrestled with it to keep it pruned. I cannot for the life of me remember the name and I'm blaming it all on "mentalpause". Sorry I couldn't be of more help but the fact that it grows in Southern Alberta might help narrow down the species?
Yep I would have said "Wild Rose" also. I know I've seen this so many times here in Canada, but do you think I can' remember the name?
I am not a very good gardener even though I wish I was. My dreams for my yard and gardens never seem to be reality.
Could it be a rose of Sharon or a mock orange??
Hi Joan -
I think it resembles a "wild rose" bush. Saw a lot of them when we walked around in Kennebunkport, Maine a few years ago. That's what we were told they were.

Whatever it is, it's beautiful.
Hi Joan,
Just came across your website while looking at the 'bow easy'!Someone may well have answered your query by now but thought I'd let you know that this plant is known as 'Canary Bird' in UK. My mum had one in her front garden many years ago. Will pray for 'Mel' and all her family, hope she continues to make steady progress.
Kind regards
