My favorite thing I love about Christmas is that my parents come down to stay with us for a few days over the Christmas holidays.
We shop, bake and eat a lot! We go to Christmas eve candle light service together and we all get to wake up and have breakfast together and open presents on Christmas morning.
I am an only child and we have done this every since I got married 22 years ago.
I know....I'm spoiled :-)
Once our children came along it was officially a tradition and it is one that hubby and I will carry on with our children when they are grown as well.

Blessings,
Cyndi

I love the Christmas holidays cause most everyone is more vibrant and alive. I won't go as far as saying full of Christmas cheer cause some are just old grouches but all the colors, the smells, the feeling of Christmas permeates everything and you just can't help but get caught up in it. I love the food, the tree, the familly together...I guess I love it all.

Growing up Christmas was celebrated with great joy in my family. My father was the center of this celebration. He loved everything about Christmas. He worked so hard to make it a wonderful time for all of us. When my father passed away it was on Christmas Eve and for many years the steam just went out of me at that time. Now several years have passed and I can once again go through the holiday with joy and his memory lives on through me. I try to continue with his vitality and show my grandchildren what a wonderful time of year Christmas can be. I guess my lesson was to show everyone my father's joy in this Season.

My favorite thing about Christmas is going to a Christmas Eve candle light service with my family. It is so fun to watch the kids with their candles and I appreciate taking some time to really focus on the reason for Christmas before the wild gift opening and toy playing the next morning. :)

Thanks so much for the chance to win this beautiful vintage set. I love Christmas especially when one of my sisters and family can be together. I love baking, making home made applebutter to give as gifts to friends, and sharing with the less fortunate through an adopt-a-family program we have at work. I sell my cards from a basket at the reception counter all year long to raise money for our chosen family. I love the happiness that seems to shine from everyone during this special season.

I absolutely love everything to do with Christmas. I don't have any children but my husband & I make it as special for each other as we possibly can. Neither of us had great Christmas's when we were growing up so now we make up for lost time and throw ourselves into the whole event. This includes making the cake, putting up decorations inside & out and going to church on christmas morning is always special too. We just love Christmas!!

It's hard to pick just one thing I love Christmas as a whole. A few years ago we started a new tradition. My mom (she's alone) comes over Christmas Eve and spends the night here so we can all be together Christmas morning. I started doing a stocking for her when we started this tradition and her eyes just light up since she hasn't had a stocking since she was a little girl. :-)

What a beautiful stamp set, and I LOVE vintage! I think my favorite part of Christmas is when all my kids and grandkids come home for Christmas! The oldest is 16 and the youngest not even a year yet, there are 13 of them, so its a full house. It is the one time of the year that we can forget about everything else and just enjoy ourselves. Of course I love the decorating, yummy goodies to eat, and the giving of presents, the wrapping, and lastly I enjoy the peace when they all go home...LOL!!!

My favorite thing about Christmas is just giving. I love to give people things. Last year I think was one of the best. My mom gives each person in the family a stocking filled with little goodies every year. Last year all of us children and grandchildren filled a 4' stocking up for her. Every one of us had so much fun finding things to put in Grandam's stocking. She was so surprised and it was a joy to see her face as she opened each wrapped little gift.

My favorite thing about Christmas is getting together with my family. There are only three of us but we all live in different cities, and the holidays are one of the few times we are all together with our mother. I also do a lot of baking and give away the goodies as gifts that over the years have turned into exchanges with friends. We all look forward to our "goody bags" from each other as we attend our parties and get togethers.
This year many of us had kids that left for college, so the holidays will be even more exciting with the kids coming home, as they are scattered throughout the country in various universities.
I love your blog Joan; makes me feel like I am visiting an old friend. Love the recipes you post!

My most favorite thing about Chirstmas currently is the look on DH's face when there are gifts in the pile from "Mrs. Claus" even though we already opened our gifts from each other.

This year should be exciting too as my son who will be almost 2 will know what to do when he sees the presents.

I just learned of your sight from Jerri Jimenez's post, and am thrilled with your work! I LOVE vintage everything and thank you for offering this set at blog candy! My favorite things about Christmas are that so many more hearts are focused on Christ and caring for each other. Also, every house on our entire street (which is shaped in a horseshoe) puts out luminaries on Christmas Eve to guide Santa on his ride to our houses. This has been a 42-year tradition and our neighborhood is lit up so warmly - we all love it!

Thank you for offering blog candy. My favorite thing about Christmas is watching my sweet 7 year old son throw himself into the spirit of giving. Ok my favorite thing about Christmas...

What is not to love about Christmas? You get to have so much fun Christmas Eve getting everything ready and prepared. Then you get a tiny bit of sleep before creeping in to see if the children are still sleeping....you wake them more excited than they could ever be and make sure the camera is rolling! You lead them blindly to where the wonderful stash of goodies left for them are. You grin so much from the delight of their joy that your face hurts for a week. You pack up and head to the first stop on the Christmas Tour! First stop you get to help bake goodies to share. You give the gifts you have thoughtfully prepared for each guest and again the cheeks are in pain! The tour continues until late in the evening and then you get to return the train to the home station just to stay up half the night playing with all of the wonderful goodies that were received throughout the tour. The smell along the way was so invigorating it takes you three days to realize you need SLEEP! I hope your Christmas is filled with child-like enthusiasm, a giving spirit, and you too can enjoy your tour!

Thank you for the lovely blog candy and it has been great finding your blog. I enjoy it very much.

My favorite thing about Christmas is tradition.....traditions that we carry from generations past. Foods, opening gifts, attending church, and watching loved one receive the gifts that you have so painstakingly chosen for them. It's so much fun to hang lights and trim the tree with music playing in the background. I love it ALL!

One of my Christmas favorites is to spend all day putting up the lights on the house. Even though it is hard work it is so rewarding when the sun goes down and you flip the light switch. The kids and I have so much fun driving around to see all of the lights in town.

Oh there are so many things about Christmas that I love it's hard to pick a favorite. First and foremost would be that it commemorates the birth of Jesus. Secondly I love holiday lights and we put up a pretty decent display at our house.

Hi Joan,
I love Christmas - and the things that I love most of all are: the Christmas Eve worship service and seeing the candles lit to signify the birth of 'the Light of the World'; the joy of the Christmas morning Church service and the faces of the children. But most of all I love being together with family and celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Now that my mother and father have passed away, the memories of years gone by are even more precious.
Thank you for offering such generous blog candy.

I love this set and your samples are a delight. What I love about Christmas is spending it with my sister's and all of our kids. The blending of our traditions, meals,
worship, gifts spiced giggles.
Three of us wheeze when laugh which then gets the neices and nephews telling stories on us. Like neice, Lauren, telling her mom and I one night while we whispered & laughed after bedtime. "Mom,you're not kids! Go to sleep!" What fun!

Christmas was always a special time in our family . Both of my parents are imigrants from Italy, they both came to America to pursue a better life. They met in New York and had 5 kids....We were very much loved. Christmas was filled with Italian traditions that I pass onto my children...it is a very special time for us. Sadly my Father passed away just 3 weeks before Christmas in 1987 and it never really was the same for many years, but now as we Celebrate the birth of our Savior, we also Celebrate my fathers life.

Great memories....thanks for having me think of them today....they are special.

I love that set, very nice and someone will be a lucky winner!

My favorite thing about Christmas is gathering the family together for food, fun and gifts for the kids. When they get too big, we plant them and get a "baby" one the next year...I like that "green" part of our celebration!
