Guess what I have been doing? I have been
canning pears. Pears are not fun to do because
each one has to be peeled, and the middle core
removed. At least with peaches, I can scald them
and the skin slides off and the seed comes out in
one piece. Not with pears....they are a pain to do.
But, they sure will taste good this winter and my
Mom has a tree in her back yard, so they are free.

I spent yesterday doing pears and pickles. This
is why you do not see a new card today. Hopefully,
this afternoon I can have time to work on a card.

Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget, my Monday
sale goes all week!!!!

These pears look beautiful, Joan, and remind me of the good ole days when I used to help my mother in law do her canning. She has been gone for 19 years now and I really miss her. We did pears, peaches, beans, corn--you name it, we canned and froze it. I know you will enjoy these this winter.

Hmmm ... these look yummy!!! I grew up canning everything but I have given up my canning ... well, actually I have turned it over to my daughter and granddaughter. They live in the country and have a small farm and she cans everything and the kids really love it come winter time!!! Thanks for sharing this!!

Your pears look wonderful. Do you have a county fair nearby that you can enter them in?
